Singer, Songwriter and Producer, Tara Alexander is no newcomer to the music scene. She has headlined at the Ascona Jazz Fest, Mackinac Island, Lionel Hampton’s Jazz Venue in Paris and the Usadba Festival in Moscow.
In addition, she has done voiceovers for the Louisiana Tourism Commission, jingles for television and is active in the hotel and convention industry…providing inspirational music for tourists and music lovers across the world.
Tara’s most notable vocals appear on “Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way,” a Women of Excellence CD Classic (Tehillah Music Group) which has been released again on Debra B. Morton’s My Better Half. Her discography & career highlights include a diverse group of artists & performances: Cinderella’s Heartbreak Station CD which went Platinum, Tribute to Edith Piaf (France), Good Morning America, Harry Connick, Jr., NFL’s SuperBowl Saturday Night, IMAX Theatre’s Movie & Soundtrack Hurricane on the Bayou, Marva Wright, Irma Thomas, Nancy Wilson, Dave Brubeck, Gladys Knight, etc. Her international experience also includes gracing stages in Paris, Germany, Switzerland, Brazil, Italy and the British Virgin Islands.
She serves as Executive Director of The Frontline Academy (formerly Judah Academy), a music training program for youth and CEO of The Frontline Corporation. Through Frontline, Tara & her husband, well-respected drummer, Jeffery Alexander, produce music projects and artistic productions that uplift the spirit and inspire the heart.
In addition to music, Tara serves in the community as Pastor of Champion Church in Mid-City and as an advocate for the broken. The ministry provides fellowship and community services for those who need it most. As a community endeavor, she is preparing for another year of the SHERO Conference, which she hosts annually as an empowerment initiative for women who want to make a difference in their own neighborhoods using their God-given gifts and talents.
